S2 E18: much of the same
Hell I even got out to the range a couple of times last week to practice what we went over in the last lesson and I emailed the dude the set up my next lesson (driver and woods, this Thursday, can’t wait to be a pro). On paper it all seemed like a solid week of recovery and health but god damn didn’t all just feel like a drag. You know, in hindsight it could even be that last week was a great experience and it’s just the negativity that’s currently permeating that is tainting the memory. In fact it’s probably that.
Cuz damn, i played a bunch of magic with friends, ran a bunch of missions online with the boys on the weekend, meal prepped and cleaned up in full productivity mode Sunday to cap the week off…i killed it.
I didn’t start this entry with this lesson in mind but here it is: it is super important to not conflate two separate moments together lest one negative experience taint others. Today just sorta sucked man, the weather was ass, I’m real fuckin sore, couple of things with side characters are going to shit, everything is fine but it’s just been a down day. But because it’s been a down day and I’m feeling all poopeh (Jaime Tartt voice) i came dangerously close to painting last week in my mind as a shitty ass week. And it wasn’t. The power of negativity is despicably gross. If you find yourself feeling shitty that’s alright, just, ya know, don’t let it ruin anything other than the current moment. Be poopeh, feel sad, but don’t let it dampen how you feel about other things and moments and memories. š
OH AND I KNOW THIS TECHNICALLY HAPPENED THIS WEEK BUT FUCK IT, MY BOY CONNER GOT HIS BLUE BELT YESTERDAY AND THE WORLD OUGHTA KNOW. He’s one of the guys that helped me right when i started training BJJ and was super humble and helpful the whole time. He also kicked my ass all the time. A well deserved promotion for a dope ass dude.
